How to cancel Squarespace
Squarespace site subscriptions cancel per-site from the billing panel. Your site goes offline at the end of the term, but the content stays in your account in case you resubscribe.
Quick answer
account.squarespace.com — log in and follow the steps below. Cancelling takes about five minutes.
Step-by-step
- Log in and open the site → Settings → Billing → Subscriptions.
- Click your Website subscription.
- Choose Cancel subscription, pick a reason, and confirm.
- Check Billing for other active subscriptions on the same site — domains, email, scheduling all bill separately.
What happens after you cancel
The site stays live until the paid term ends, then goes private. Content remains editable in your account but not publicly visible.
Worth knowing
- Annual plans refund within 14 days of purchase; after that the term just runs out.
- Squarespace domains renew independently of the website plan — a common source of surprise charges a year later.
What the charge looks like
Squarespace typically bills $12–$60 per month, and its renewal emails come from squarespace.com. BeforeItBills detects those emails automatically and warns you 7 days before each charge — so the next renewal never sneaks past you.
