How to cancel Spotify Premium

Spotify Premium cancels from your account page on the web — the mobile app only links you there. Your account drops to the free ad-supported tier, keeping playlists and saved music.

Quick answer

spotify.com/account/subscriptionlog in and follow the steps below. Cancelling takes about five minutes.

Step-by-step

  1. Go to spotify.com/account and log in.
  2. Open Manage your plan.
  3. Click Change plan, scroll to Spotify Free, and choose Cancel Premium.
  4. Confirm — the page will show the date Premium ends.

What happens after you cancel

Premium runs until the next billing date, then your account becomes Spotify Free. Playlists, follows, and saved songs all survive; downloads and ad-free playback don't.

Worth knowing

  • Subscribed through an iPhone years ago? Some legacy subscriptions bill through Apple — if you don't see a cancel option, check Settings → Subscriptions on iOS.
  • Student and Duo/Family plans cancel the same way from the plan manager's account.

What the charge looks like

Spotify Premium typically bills $3–$20 per month, and its renewal emails come from spotify.com. BeforeItBills detects those emails automatically and warns you 7 days before each charge — so the next renewal never sneaks past you.

Stop finding out after the charge.

BeforeItBills scans your inbox and warns you 7 days before any subscription bills you. No bank connection — free on iOS.
