How to cancel Slack
Slack bills per workspace, per active member — cancelling means a workspace owner downgrades the workspace to the Free plan.
Quick answer
slack.com/admin/billing — log in and follow the steps below. Cancelling takes about five minutes.
Step-by-step
- As a workspace owner, open your workspace name → Tools & settings → Billing.
- Go to the Plans section.
- Select Change plan → Free and confirm the downgrade.
- The change applies at the end of the current billing period.
What happens after you cancel
Message history beyond 90 days becomes hidden (not deleted) on the Free plan, and app integrations are capped at 10.
Worth knowing
- Slack credits unused seat-time when members go inactive — check the Billing page's credit balance before deciding the timing.
What the charge looks like
Slack typically bills $7–$500 per month, and its renewal emails come from slack.com. BeforeItBills detects those emails automatically and warns you 7 days before each charge — so the next renewal never sneaks past you.
