How to cancel Google One
Google One (the paid storage plan for Drive, Gmail, and Photos) cancels from the Google One site or app. Plan for the storage math before you do it.
Quick answer
one.google.com/settings — log in and follow the steps below. Cancelling takes about five minutes.
Step-by-step
- Go to one.google.com and sign in.
- Open Settings → Manage membership (on mobile: the Google One app → Settings).
- Tap Cancel membership and confirm.
- Subscribed via the iOS app? Cancel through Apple's subscription settings instead.
What happens after you cancel
Storage reverts to the free 15 GB at period end. Over quota: nothing is deleted immediately, but Gmail can stop receiving mail and uploads stop — clean up or download first.
Worth knowing
- Google warns that accounts over quota for 2 years may have content removed — don't leave it over the limit indefinitely.
- Google One AI/Premium tiers cancel the same way; the AI features simply stop at period end.
What the charge looks like
Google One typically bills $1–$400 per month, and its renewal emails come from google.com. BeforeItBills detects those emails automatically and warns you 7 days before each charge — so the next renewal never sneaks past you.
Stop finding out after the charge.
BeforeItBills scans your inbox and warns you 7 days before any subscription bills you. No bank connection — free on iOS.
