How to cancel Amazon Prime
Amazon Prime is one of the few subscriptions with a real refund policy: cancel without having used the benefits since your last renewal and Amazon refunds the fee, in full or pro-rated.
Quick answer
amazon.com/mc/yourmembership — log in and follow the steps below. Cancelling takes about five minutes.
Step-by-step
- Sign in at amazon.com and open Accounts & Lists → Prime.
- Click Manage membership → Update, cancel and more.
- Choose End membership and continue through the (several) retention screens.
- Pick whether to end now (with eligible refund) or at the renewal date.
What happens after you cancel
Prime perks — shipping, Prime Video, Prime Music — stop either immediately (with refund) or at the period end, whichever you chose.
Worth knowing
- If you haven't used any Prime benefit since the last charge, you're typically entitled to a full refund of that charge.
- Prime Video-only subscriptions cancel in the same membership page.
What the charge looks like
Amazon Prime typically bills $10–$250 per year, and its renewal emails come from amazon.com. BeforeItBills detects those emails automatically and warns you 7 days before each charge — so the next renewal never sneaks past you.
